Crime Report: Harvest Lane Car Break-in

Folks please be aware of this incident that was reported today. Please report any suspicious activity to the police immediately then contact your block captain or myself.

Date – May 2nd

Time – approx 8:30am

Tall & slender, African America Male, wearing a plaid shirt (blue & red), had broken in to a car parked on the street at 1495 Harvest Lane. He was under the hood and was confronted by a neighbor at which time he rode off down Harvest Lane on a 10 speed bike and turned right on St. Patrick street. Neighbors should be aware that vehicles parked on the street seem to be targeted. There were several items missing from the car so he must have taken things during the night and then returned this morning. Not sure what he was doing under the hood of the car. If anyone sees this person please contact Dekalb County Police.

Suspicious Van and Stolen Mail

We have had a report of a suspcious white van on St. Patrick Street on Friday 1/14 and Saturday 1/15. This van was parked overnight and had Fulton County government tags. Several neighbors indicated they didn’t know who owned it so the police were called. The vehicle was not reported stolen so there wasn’t anything they could do. The vehicle was gone as of 1/16. If you see this vehicle or any other suspicious activity please call 911 and report it to the police. As always please do not hesitate to contact me or your block captain. We have also had a confirmed report of stolen outgoing mail on St. Patrick last weekend as well.

Mail awaiting postal pick-up was taken from the mailbox, opened, contents and postage stamp removed, and empty envelope tossed into a neighborhood yard.

If you notice any suspicious people in the neighborhood please contact the police. It is always best to let them know, they will send out a unit if they deem it necessary.

Suspicious Vehicle: Green Durango cruising neighborhood

I just had a report of a Green Durango (late 90s to early 2000s vintage). The vehicle was driving erratically through the neighborhood potentially casing houses. Driver appears to be a mid-twenties African-American. Handicap license plate. The police were called. Attempted Break-in on E. Tupelo

I just received notice that there was an attempted break-in on E. Tupelo (near the dead end). The burglar(s) attempted to gain entry through the back door but were scared off by the alarm. This happened around 9pm last night (Tuesday October 13th). If you have any details about the incident please report it either via the police department or you can contact your block captain or myself.

Please be on the alert and report any suspicious activity immediately to 911.

It is very easy to forget or confuse important details (physical description including clothing color and type) so you may want to write it down. A/C Theft

On Wednesday, February 11, a maroon Yukon with Florida tags and tinted windows was seen cruising slowly through out the neighborhood. A former NJ police officer and neighbor observed this and contacted Dekalb County. The vehicle continued scouting slowly through Venice, Tupelo, etc. and left shortly before the police arrived 15 minutes after the 911 request. During the day of Wednesday, an air conditioning condenser coil set above a furnace was removed from a basement of a vacant home, about a $900 theft. We need to be vigilant.

Break in St. Patrick Street

Today there was a break-in at 2525 Saint Patrick Street. The house is located at the corner of St. Patrick and Patrick Court, caddy-corner from the new green house. The residents came home from work at about 6:15 and found their driveway window broken out with a brick. The person(s) entered and left through the window. Stolen items included an IPOD, video camera, digital camera, coins, and gold jewelry.

Possible incident this morning (TV theft)

Those of you on the email list should have received a notice but I wanted to follow up here.

This morning there was a suspicious vehicle, an Orange Nissan Quest, parked at 2480 Tupelo with a flat screen TV on the roof. As of yet I have not confirmed whether any houses in our neighborhood were victimized. However, a police report was filed with Dekalb County Police.

Please keep an eye out for any suspicious activity and report any incidents to 911 then your block captain.

Car Break-in

Greetings neighbors. Unfortunately, we had a break-in last night at 2638 St. Patrick Court. A car that was parked out front was broken into and ransacked. There were several items stolen including tools and a power saw. If you have any information about this incident please contact your block captain or myself.

If you see any suspicious activity while it is happening call 911 immediately (then call your block captain).
