I have been getting a huge deluge of SPAM on the discussion board. Today I spent probably over an hour deleting SPAM accounts. Sometimes it isn’t always obvious what is a SPAM account since they have managed to get into Gmail/Hotmail/etc. I went through and looked up each accounts IP address and if the country of origin was non-USA I deleted the account. If by some chance someone here registered whilst out of the country please do accept my apologies and re-register.

On Wednesday, February 11, a maroon Yukon with Florida tags and tinted windows was seen cruising slowly through out the neighborhood. A former NJ police officer and neighbor observed this and contacted Dekalb County. The vehicle continued scouting slowly through Venice, Tupelo, etc. and left shortly before the police arrived 15 minutes after the 911 request. During the day of Wednesday, an air conditioning condenser coil set above a furnace was removed from a basement of a vacant home, about a $900 theft. We need to be vigilant.

Commissioner Larry Johnson, in response to the growing concern that the corridors around DeKalb were inundated with litter, recommended that a special work group be developed — the Litter Patrol. With funding appropriated in the 2007 budget the Litter Patrol came into being, April 6, 2007.
The Litter Patrol is designed to be a control measure in monitoring and maintaining the county’s rights-of-way, corridors, state roads and interchanges. Community Service Workers, under the supervision of a county employee provide litter pick up to areas in need. There are four (4) crews – north, east, south and west DeKalb are serviced as needed.
